1000+ in the Artist Community

Well here we are! 1000+ Artist Blogs!!!!!!

With the anticipation of a teenager thowing a house party and worrying if anyone would turn up, I've been watching the community numbers steadily increasing over the past couple of weeks and we seem to have a nice, steady stream of new talent joining us each day!

Thankyou to everyone who has joined up so far and especially to those of you who really taken advantage of the community aspects of these blogs. I can already see many music subcommunities/groups forming with some great content on there.

Ged (the chairman of Sony BMG) is away at the moment, but I know he's checking his blog so I'll be sure to forward on the news to him. I'll also make sure that Mike and Craig know too.

More important than the quantity is the quality of music that is now within our community, and you are all recognising that, commenting and communicating with each other and helping showcase each other's talent.

I have already started presenting unsigned acts from the community to the labels with positive responses, people within the labels are also listening to your music and circulating it.

Now there are enough of you, we can start running different features and involve you further, one of which will be 'Group of the Week' (until I think of a better name). As I said, there are many subcommunities forming into shared groups which is great and I'd like to draw attention to these. This will help establish a bit of structure to the community so people know where to go to listen to different styles of music, plus it will generate traffic from here to them.

So post comments to this blog of Groups that you think are worth a visit, I've already seen a few with a lot of members.
