There's just soooo much.
Hello,
A complete deluge of new bands have flooded our new community. Nearly 500 new acts over the space of 3/4 days, crazyness.
I can't complain, this is great. I've spent the past couple of days listening to new music. And there have been a lot of really good tracks (there's been some dire ones too but lets not mention that). I'm going to write a bit about them hopefully within the next day or so. I will post about a few bands that have caught my ear.
Now then, as there are now hundreds of you there are thousands of emails, comments etc. However, I have been trying to answer pretty much everything that's coming in, other people in the labels step in and answer comments too sometimes, this will happen more often over time. Anyhoot, I'm just about keeping on top of them now, if you haven't heard back from a PM or comment, bear in mind there's a lot of you and it's not just about one of us listening to you, you should be encouraging others to listen to you too. :-)
This is what should be happening next. So you're all here in the community shouting about your music, which is good, there are good tracks here. However, how many tracks have you listened too off other people's blogs huh? You should be forming your own communities too, sharing ideas and comments, maybe getting some of your fans on here so they can hear you stuff.
Don't forget you can post things to 'neighbourhood', 'friends' and 'family' maybe you could offer exclusive content to people linked as 'family' only eh? This isn't a one off demo submission you've submitted, it's the beginning of a conversation with a wider community and part of your bands'/artist on-line idenitity.
I better get off my soap-box now, but one more thing. A lot of you are having bother getting artwork on your tracks, which is a shame as some of you have good graphics. Click here for a post that was forwarded to me on the subject, hopefully that will sort you out.

Hey Columbia. We're the Dastards from the UK. Not sure which label we should concentrate on. In a sentence what's the difference between Columbia & RCA? Does each label cover different genres (I do hate that word!) of music? Or is it first come, first served ?
Anyway here we are Dastards.com or Dastards MySpace
All the best,
Stretch
we would love some feedback good or back about the tracks we have posted on this site, let us know .....

Hey hey,
I´m looking for a bit of feedback for my stuff. I´ve pretty much always had positive reviews of my music and have won prizes on Broadjam and the like. I´m desperately trying to upload mp3s but my computer is WAAAY too slow and it takes hours to upload. But i´ll get there.
At least take a peek at the profile luvvies.

Hello from the US!
It's very cool of you all to give us artists an opportunity to be heard!!! Thank You!!!
I'm curious 'tho... I've seen a LOT of people getting fired from their jobs, lately, merely because of things posted on their blog sites. -I'm hoping that the Columbia Corporation doesn't treat their artists, staff, and other members in the same way. We're finding out more and more that our freedom of speech and press is being taken away and it's now including the freedom we have in our blogs. What good is a blog if you can't say what's on your mind? Musicians have been fighting censorship for years now, and now us bloggers will have to do the same. -It's sad.
I've posted my newest song on my page for your convenience, and I'm hoping that you would take a few moments of your time to check it out and give me your thoughts on it.
As for my Screen Name, Dark Knightingale, don't be alarmed. -I was merely a male Nurse's Aide who worked at night. (Florence Nightingale... Dark Knightingale... -Get it?)
I do hope you find my music to be enjoyable, and I thank you again for this opportunity!
Hi Guys,
I figure that you must be flooded with loads of musicians who want you to listen to many tracks, so i've only put one up for the moment. I would really appreciate it if you could listen to it and let me know what you think. If you like it then there are more on www.myspace.com/duncanhorlock and plenty more on my computer at home!
Cheers for your time,
Duncan
Greetings from Texas:
Just wanted to say that we're proud to be a member of the Musical Family!
Well, I don't know what to say. First, this is something I've waited for years, I mean, undiscovered artists like me having the "chance" of our lives. This is amazing. But it makes me think: how far it goes?
I mean, I'm from a different country, and I'm pretty sure I was born at the wrong place, 'cause a prefer billion times to speak in english than in portuguese (i'm from Brazil) and all of my songs are written in english. But that's not the point.
The real point is: how large is the possibility of "chances" y'all givin' to the people? 'Cause we all know that today we have great artists in the Music Industry (such as Christina Aguilera), but we have some who can't be able to do more than something that sells, without emotions or feelings.
So that's the questions: How will you choose someone to sign? Is it goin' be by nationality? by language? What percent of "chance" a person like me has? the same as "everybody"? None?
Think about it, and remember: the talent, the hard work and dedication breaks all the walls that can exist.
I wait for an answer, if somebody at least read it.
We've managed to get our first (self funded )video onto MTV, be played on BBc radio 2, gotten onto 10 International compilations , alongside Snow Patrol, Zero &, Nerina pallot, Sarah Maclachlan, etc, and we are justifyably proud of that, but tellingly, all these acts 'got there' on a major
http://latecomers.vox.com/
have a listen to these ones.
There's a video too and 4 demos of recent stuff.. There are 19 more tracks still in progress - some much more finger picking folky stuff.. I love you Sx

This is all such a better idea, please comment our stuff!
I recently got in touch with Ged at Sonybmg regarding electronic/acoustic styles similar to The Chemical Brothers and Royksopp. He advised me that you would be the best label to approach, and on his advice im hoping you could listen to the three track demo i have uploaded onto my Blog @ http://herdwhite.vox.com
Any comments, good or bad would be very much appreciated!
I hope to hear from you soon,
Kind Regards

Hey there I'm Toby... Would be awsome if you could have a little listen to the songs on my blog and give some feedback... very much appreciated!
Toby
Come listen to some happy, calming jazz/pop!
Thanks for showing up, IB.
I must say, I find this site more than helpful. I am one of Birmingham Uk's top Rising Artists and even with a top Birmingham Manager, it is always not easy to reach top A&Rs, I am confident that at least here they can see my profile, listen to my Demo songs and see my press reviews and who knows I may even be the first person to get signed on the site.
Kind Regards
Stine Richard
Hey there! Columbia signed the Manics way back in 91 didn't they? You're alright in my book!
Keep rockin'!
Also, I have music.
IB
As far as you asking how much of other people's music we've listened to, I get that was your way of trying to promote the entire community but frankly that's not what we need from you. Artists don't need someone from a label telling them they need to listen to other bands. Artists are part of your community because they want to know what Columbia Records has to say, if anything, about their music.
All best,
Christopher Zerbe
Is Aretha still on sony BMG arista or something? I get confused.
But CBS is a constant.
where do I complain to Clive Davis? why is there no new product?
should I be somewhere else?
Hey, we're a Canadian band that's thinking of coming to London to play the London City Showcase in June. Check out our songs and let us know if you'd be interested in seeing the show.
Thanks
All the best

This site has opened doors that seemed closed in the past. I am one of Birmingham's Top Rising Artists and even with a top Birmingham Manager, it is not always easy to reach some top A&Rs. In a day, I have been reached by Some A&Rs that it would have taken much longer for them to notice my talent. Who knows, I may even be the first person to be signed from the site.
Stine Richard
I think this site is a great idea! I only wish someone would have thought of this ages ago! Now A&Rs will have easy access to my videos, audio and photos.
Look forward to hearing from you soon,

This Sunday evening, Glavion’s track ‘Chemical’ is being aired on BBC Southern Counties, by Phil Jackson!
Glavion will be up against two other tracks, and evaluated by music industry professionals. Each track will get 2 minutes of air-play then discussed and scored out of 30 points. The highest scoring track earns a place on the show's playlist, and an interview the following week. Listener feedback is essential so please use the following link to add your comments. Many thanks!!

Mayhem Deranged is centered round former Sigue Sigue Sputnik drummer Ray Mayhew.
On leaving Sputnik in 1990 he formed the group Mayhem Deranged who proceeded to record a wealth of material.
Sadly, very little of it has been heard outside of close circles.
That is, until now...
Ray has emerged from the haze of obscurity and is set to bestow his inimitable blend of rock 'n' roll chaos and mayhem upon the music business once more.

Hi, I just read about this new thing and found it good, so signed up to Vox by clicking on the link here in your post. For some reason though you don't appear in my neigborghood. How can we remedy that?
